Thank you for visiting Battle For First Chair. My name is Dovell ‘B’ Battle. It is both my pleasure and honor to be able to speak with you today. I sincerely hope that everyone interested and curious about musical instrumentation, and, EXCITING, CHALLENGING, FAIR, & FIERCELY FUN competition, will join us here at Battle For First Chair so that you can join us in witnessing musical instrumentation greatness by people representing ALL four corners of the globe.

It is our hope that once you get a taste of the talent illuminating from our competition, you will come to our site and enjoy the first-of-its-kind musical instrumentalist competition season after season.

The creation of Battle For First Chair is a long time dream of mine…come true.

My love, respect, and appreciation for music of all genres started at a very young age. My mother encouraged me to pursue my love for music by working a lot of overtime on her job until she could afford to buy me a brand new gold-plated trumpet that I had begged her for when I was in the 6th grade.

That is when I joined the first of many, many bands I would perform and play with throughout my life.

I was and always will be, hopelessly hooked on Instrumental music. There just is NO comparison between real instrumentation and synthesized music. None. After joining my first band class in elementary school, playing in Concert bands, Stage bands, Marching bands, R&B bands, Rock bands, Country bands, Blues bands, Jazz bands, and fusion bands, THEY all became defining moments for me. What I have learned in my life of music, through music, is that MUSIC really does make the world go round & MUSIC really does calm the savage beast in us. Come join us as we journey through the world of music together, while observing and honoring the musical instrumental contributions of people of all races, colors, nationalities and ethnicities to OUR world.

Musicians and Instrumentalists have been challenging each other for the FIRST CHAIR position in their respective instrumental section because, the FIRST CHAIR is reserved for the BEST OF THE BEST in the section.

The BATTLE FOR FIRST CHAIR has historically been fierce but entertaining competition. Here, men and women of all ages, races, nationalities, colors and backgrounds from EVERYWHERE on this planet we call EARTH, will have the opportunity and pleasure of submitting VIDEOS of themselves performing or playing their favorite music on their instruments for an opportunity to both compete and showcase their unique musical talent and skills while millions of viewers and potential fans of theirs, listen, hear, and experience their love for music, musical talents, skills and creativity… . Not to mention having a chance at winning and being crowned WINNER of the FIRST CHAIR.

Please help me bring the art of instrumentation back to the renown status and stage that it so deserves across the world. Between me and you, I KNOW we can and will do… just that. Come on and ride with me on this journey across the globe searching for the greatest musicians in the world, and bringing their talents and skills, directly to YOU for your enjoyment and listening pleasure.
